Another long day!

Tuesday July 30th, 2013

Sun, Rain, Snow?, whatever the weather may be like- I'm on my feet!!!!!! I spent most of the day away from home engaged in meetings and other activities.

In the afternoon, together with the Assistant General Secretary of St. Lucia National Youth Council (NYC), I met with the Executive Director of the National Community Foundation (NCF).  NYC has partnered with NCF on the 9th Brian Bernard Memorial Lecture (theme " Youth, Ethics and the Law") scheduled for August 12th, 2013.  It was our last meeting heading to the event.

What is the lecture all about???? :) Source: NCF--- The lecture is a way of honouring the late commissioner  (Brian Benard Memorial Lecture) and continuing his legacy to nurture ethical behavior in our citizens especially among the youth. A very brief and to-the-point meeting. Youth from around the island will be mobilized to attend this event.

After this meeting, the executive of St. Lucia National Youth Council met with the Country Director of  the Global Environment Fund- United Nations Development Programme. A very successful gathering.

With all this said, after meeting such high profile individuals, my day ended behind a pick-up truck, in the rain. Why? I was unable, at 5:45 p.m. to find a bus back home. As usual, I had to rush down to the Anse- La - Raye bus stop. After getting to Anse- La- Raye I had no choice but to hitchhike a ride back home. Together with 7 other individuals, 4 from Soufriere (one of them was an old lady- I would believe mid 60s; after a long day (from 5 a.m.) selling at the market)  and the other 3 were from Canaries.

Merci Bon-dieux, I got my tired self home!
